89 year old Ray and Michael

We had the rare opportunity to harvest produce straight from the garden.  I sat right down and started probing the sandy soil looking for beets and carrots, feeling like I was back in my own garden. Unfortunately, the experience was a little more rewarding than the harvest. The combination of recent hurricanes and drought has devastated most of the fruit trees, leaving farming as a dying livelihood here. Meeting the landowner, 89, and wife, 87, was one of our highlight experiences.
