Look out for the iguanas
There are a few endangered species here, most notable the West India (pink) Flamingo, which we have not seen yet, and the White-Tailed Tropicbird. These beautiful graceful birds are predominately white with a pair of long white tail feathers. The undersurfaces of their white wings reflect the vivid aqua and turquoise colors of the water below giving them an iridescent hue. The Exumas are their breeding grounds so we have been able to see a few of them. Species of endangered iguanas live on a few of the small cays too, some growing to lengths of 4 ft. They are not shy about approaching you at all!
